Sexual Health In Partnership with Gateshead Public Health @ NHS Melissa
Our Sexual Health outreach team once again teamed up with Gateshead Council’s Public Health team and NHS Melissa to host a health and wellbeing event at Gateshead’s very own Saltwell Park.
The Gateshead Health & Wellbeing events are a series of events located in different venues across Gateshead with the purpose to commence conversation around health & wellbeing needs across the local area. The event provided brief interventions & service information using Gateshead’s Making Every Contact Count approach. This helps determine local need, understand public knowledge, and helps engage in conversation with members of the public around local service provision to improve access to health services. The event was also supported by Gateshead’s Learning skills team which seen over 60 young people and staff attend the event along with members of the public.
Sexual Health services teamed up with a range of community based health services at the health and wellbeing event to provide access to sexual health screening, contraception and services resources. This is a great example of partnership working in Gateshead between our Public Health colleagues, NHS & Voluntary sector organisations all sharing a common goal to improve the health of local communities in Gateshead.
Thanks to Gateshead Councils Public Health team for having us.
